Lapis Lazuli

Find a full size Lapis Lazuli tumbled stone in each of our Throat Chakra Soaps

Lapis Lazuli is a metamorphic rock of highly variable composition that most often forms in limestone. It is mainly made up of lazurite (25 to 40%), which gives it its deep blue color, between azure and ultramarine. Lapis Lazuli is typically dotted with veins of pyrite which has sometimes been mistaken for gold dust. Other minerals can enter into its composition, primarily calcite and sodalite, but also augite, mica or even hauynite.

A multitude of archaeological sites indicate a very ancient use of Lapis Lazuli. This dates back at least to the Neolithic period (7th millennium BC). It is found in the form of beads, pendants, daggers, ornaments, and amulets. It was obviously the object of a vast commercial network, between Afghanistan, the Indus Valley, Mesopotamia and Egypt.

Crystallized lapis lazuli is a very powerful stone, but it remains quite rare and therefore relatively expensive. For best results, choose a stone with a strong ultramarine blue color and pyrite chips over a lighter one with white veins.

It is a beneficial stone on many levels. It helps in different types of vision disorders by improving the proper functioning of the eyes and acts particularly on night vision. Its energetic action helps fight certain allergies. It is also recommended to lower fever. It is very effective in treating the kidneys, as it regulates the level of water in the body. Its medicinal properties are particularly evident in the bladder, digestive system, mouth and stomach. It calms vomiting, relieves painful menstruation and maintains the endocrine glands. But that's not all…

Placed at the level of the throat chakra, Lapis Lazuli is particularly beneficial to this region of the body. It plays a role in strengthening the lungs, strengthens the throat, activates the functioning of the thymus and helps in diseases of the pharynx.

Lapis Lazul is renowned for its ability to soothe headaches. You can take advantage of its curative action by taking a pebble and applying it to the painful areas of the head or neck. To prevent the migraine from coming back, sleep with a lapis lazuli stone under your pillow for a few days.

Psychologically and spiritually, lapis lazuli elevates the soul and stabilizes the spirit. It is a stone that brings wisdom, self-confidence, intuition and creative expression. It helps with introspection, inner discipline and allows you to be more vigorous, more focused and more serene. Symbol of protection, Lapis Lazuli helps to get through difficult times and situations. It is able to revive the courage of its possessor, free them from their anxieties and relieve their stress. Lapis Lazuli extinguishes anger, brings peace and serenity, and allows one to face the truth with objectivity and clarity. Spiritual upliftment and creative expression. The appearance of Lapis physically reveals its celestial power. It allows us to blend into the starry vault in order to better understand our position in the universe. The stone therefore plays a role in improving mental finesse and stimulating creative expression. Being an excellent deficiency diagnoser, it also helps in the correction of weaknesses at the psychic and psychological levels. Courage and self-confidence Lapis stone is most suited to shy, introverted and withdrawn people, as it enhances self-confidence through self-acceptance. Being the symbol of a strong personality and hope, it gives courage to people wishing to move forward and go beyond their limits. It also shapes humor and repartee. It is the ideal stone in all areas concerning communication. Lapis Lazuli, as a stone promoting inner vision, also facilitates the memory of dreams, their interpretation, and the occurrence of lucid dreams. Lapis Lazuli helps to harmonize the different physical, psychological and spiritual planes. It prevents imbalances that are likely to cause discomfort and the appearance of depressive states. It helps overcome depression and let go of old anxiety and fears.

HOW TO TAKE CARE OF MY CRYSTAL

Ideally, we recommend cleaning the minerals between each session of use. An appropriate time and frequency of refilling allows you to benefit from the properties of the stone at their peak.

To purify your lapis lazuli and release it from this accumulated energy, immerse it in a large bowl of water and let it soak overnight. Simple tap water will do fine, otherwise use distilled water. Make sure the container is made of a natural material, preferably glass, and not plastic. Be careful never to use salt or salt water. This would damage the stone. To recharge your stone, you can simply place your lapis in natural light. However, be sure to avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight. Moonlight is the most recommended. You can also recharge your lapis lazuli with a cluster of quartz. To do this, place it within an amethyst geode. This very stone-friendly method also has the advantage of purifying and recharging it at the same time.
